Natural Drain Cleaner

Most of us will at one time or another have the need for a drain cleaner.  Most drains will become clogged with either grease, fats, food particles, sewage, paper, cotton, hair, or various other items. It is up to you to decide if you would like to try the natural drain cleaners and help to also keep the environment clean.

Earth FriendlyMost of the major manufactures of drain cleaners does see the need for all natural products and does a great job in the research and development of the natural drain cleaners, often called earth friendly or green. Most of the blends are made of a blend or enzymes and bacteria. Most of the manufactures will keep these all natural and not genetically engineered.  Some of the handheld drain cleaner tools are also considered a nautral drain cleaner as they do not pollute the earth.  Tools like the drain cleaner cable or snake can be a way to avoid chemicals.   The hand held zip it drain cleaner is a good choice of a tool that can make this job easier.

A large number of these will also have the advantage of being non poisonous. Most will not cause fumes, heat or boiling. The enzymes and bacteria will not attack inorganic matter or living tissue. This will make it safe for the pipes, people and the environment. The waste particles are changed into water, mineral ash and carbon dioxide, and other elements that can travel harmlessly out of your pipes. The enzymes and bacteria will eat their way through the accumulated waste that has build up in your pipes over a period of time as the waste is their natural food. The enzymes and bacteria will clean the complete system as they spread throughout it.

Another way to stay with the natural drain cleaners is to make it yourself. The homemade drain cleaners are made from baking soda and white vinegar. The use of lemon also helps to keep the drain fresh. Bring one gallon of water to boiling with half a lemon, this can even be the remains of a used lemon. While waiting for this to boil, pour ½ cup of baking soda into drain followed by 1 cup of white vinegar. Allow this to foam and work while waiting for lemon water to boil. Carefully pour boiling water into the drain. Try this every few weeks to once a month to help keep drains clear and fresh.
