There is never a good time to have a clogged drain. But it is very embarrassing to have this happen during the time we are entertaining guest or to have a toilet back up when we have over night guests. Rigid drain cleaner can offer several different tools to help with this problems.  The plumbing professions recommend that we keep a few of the drain pipe cleaners. One of the most often recommended tools is the ball-type plunger. The ball-type plunger works a bit better then the regular suction plungers. The ball-type plunger can produce more force and pressure then the regular plunger. The plungers can work in the toilets, sinks and shower and tub drains also. 

The kitchen sinks seem to clog with food particles and other items that are rinsed off. One way to help avoid this is the use of a drain screen. This is a very inexpensive item that will fit down into the drain and work like a strainer to catch food and stuff before they go down the drain. The bathroom sinks, shower and tubs seem to clog more with hair then anything else. It is recommended to keep the pop-up stopper cleaned off as hair will buildup there.

The toilets that clog and backup can overflow into the floor. This not only will cause a mess, but can also damage flooring materials. A toilet drain cleaner can help prevent this damage.  If you have a septic tank system, you will need to have it pumped out on occasion. It is also recommended to have the system inspected every two to three years. In fact, in certain areas it is a state requirement to have regular inspections. It can also be helpful to introduce a dry bacterial and enzyme into the system on a monthly basis. The enzymes and bacterial will eat the waste material. This will help to keep the tank cleaner and flowing better.
